I know exactly where you mean and I'm afraid it is one of the few Thetford lanes we will be fitting in Twisted Evil

And yes of course you can have a copy of the route. I'll let you have it before we set off this Sunday on the final recce for the guides Wink  Laughing

And sorry bigboots but I don't think I've recieved any PM Confused No just checked, definately no PM Sad

Went and did the final recce of the route today with bigboots. All the lanes were open some proved to be very mild whilst others were quite scratchy and deeply rutted. The scratchy section could of been boxed around though. The main worry we had had was the time involved in reaching the start from the campsite (just over an hour) and the time we would get back to camp for the barbie. Timing wise this actually proved to be spot on and would work well.

BUT!  Rolling Eyes

It just wasn't as enjoyable a drive as it is around Thetford. It was to cover the entire drivable length of peddars way which is handily an old roman road (Not many new ones about Twisted Evil ) Which means it's a nice straight line (easy for navigation Wink )  but I think this proved it's downfall. Apart from a few nice views it proved a bit repetative and soon became a little boring Confused It is a very well used National trail so there were walkers about all of which seemed pretty unhappy to see us there Evil or Very Mad  This probably wasn't helped by the fact that there was evidence of vehicular damage to some of the lanes. Also the bigger of the 3 fords is currently only drivable across the shorter route as the exit to the longer route is being resurfaced. We were informed of this by a nice old boy when we were half way down the ford. Have you ever watched 2 4x4's reversing along a river Laughing  The fords were the main reason to travel the distance involved but with them all now being quick in and out dips it is a little disappointing.

SO!  Rolling Eyes

We have decided to stick to what we know best and keep the laning to around the Thetford and Banham area. These lanes are all well used and there is never any issues out enroute. The greenary is a little overgrown in places due to the recent weather but overall it is pretty clear. This will be a pretty easy route and suitable for first timers whilst hopefully still proving a nice drive out for all.

With the short time left even I couldn't change the route again Rolling Eyes  Wink

I will be putting together maps and route cards as we currently only have 4 definate group leaders so will at the moment need at least one other volunteer preferably two. The route will also be available on Memory Map for those of you with it (please let me know if you do as it's a godsend Very Happy ).
