Hello

I'm considering a late Long Bed L200 (176 bhp motor) to replace my 96 V6 'Shogun (which I am so absolutely pleased with. I smile every time I look at it or drive it - it's a great little truck!).

Does anyone have any info about potential engine problems with the 176 bhp engine? Has it been tweaked a bridge too far?

Also, I read that people find the leaf rear springs give a horrible ride in the L200 after running a Shogun (with its coil rear springs). Does anyone have experience indicating whether the Walkinshaw rear coil spring, multi-link suspension significantly improves the ride quality? I believe it can still be bought as a retrofit.

I'm planning to use it as our only daily use vehicle, and to put a demountable camper on the back for holidays (not sure if the leaf springs or the Walkinshaw coils would be better for that).

Any comments welcome.

I'll be really sorry to get rid of the Shogie, but I might just rip the roof off and use it for trials. Or, I might just save a bunch of money, keep the Shogun, and stay in hotels Smile
