So sorry to be coming into this so late, not been in contact with anybody from POCUK for some time and popped in to cheer myself up.
I spent years abusing Nick and James, as Simon said, cornerstones of the community. Nick was such a good guy, so popular I joked about having to make an appoitment to call him.
Only met him once and lent James an angle grinder to work on Nicks Paj, James slipped cut halfway through a brake line and rubbed a bit of dirt in it to cover it up. Just about sums up they way thngs used to be.
All my love goes to Kath and Claire and I sorry again to coming in so late to this news.
I will miss you brother....

Absolutely Stunned
For various reasons i have been unable to get on the pocuk website, so today when a friend sent me some software, i thought i'd peek into The Community.
I was utterly gobsmacked and couldn't believe it.
I feel terrible that it has taken me so long to find this out.
My sincerest condolences to Kath and family.
I dont know if Nick was religous or not, but this at the beginning of Ramadan, a prayer will be said for Nick and may he rest in peace.

Hello Mo, good to see you out and about, travelled Littlebourgh the other week looking for you, stayed up at Hebden Bridge for a week, in caravan, so was out and about.
Mo, Nick was a religious guy, and in recent months to his passing, needed it a lot, he lost his father some time ago, and with other things in his work life, he and Kath had up sticks, moved over to Aberystwyth area, new home, new job, sadly, he was taken from Kath, and all of us, one morning, shortly after moving.
Be good to meet you and your family again, |

Hi again Richie,
Good to hear from you again, although the circumstances are not ideal.
You are welcome to our home anytime you are in the vicinity, my mobile number is still the same if you have it, otherwise i will PM it again to you.
Hope all is well with your family.
When you see Kath tell her i wish her the best, Nick i'm sure, being the kind gentleman that he was, is being looked after, after all he did for others here.
Hope to see you sometime soon.
Regards
Mo |

Morning all, ages since I've been on here. When I passed my Sport over to the missus I kind-of lost contact, so I am desolate to learn of the passing of Nick Frain, he was a font of wisdom and an all round good guy, even to us in the lonliest part of POCUK, the Challenger/Sport section. My best wishes and heartfelt condolances go to his family and to all of those who knew and loved him! |

Have not been on POCUK for a while and am shocked to see this terrible news.
I feel that Nick was a friend although I never met him, his personality came across in his posts, he was one of a dying breed - a true gentleman!

So sorry to hear this news and so sorry that I am posting on it so late.
I sold my Paj two years ago and have been out of touch. I recently bought a new one and was so looking forward today to coming on the forum and letting my pal Nick know that I am back. I am shocked and absolutely gutted that we have lost such a lovely guy. I knew nothing about Pajeros when I first joined the club and it was Nick who made me feel comfortable in asking any question and always steered me in the right direction. His replies were always friendly, patient and full of humour. It seems odd to say that you will miss someone you never met in person but it's the truth and I always regarded him as a mate I could turn to when I needed info or help. The amount of posts is testament to how highly regarded he was, and still is.
Of course my sadness is nothing compared to that of his family and close friends. My most sincere condolences. For what it is worth I will always think of him when I look at my Paj or visit the site.
Respectful Regards
Vai |
