Just insured my LWB 2.5TD Pajero (1992) for £597 with NO NCD, as I already have a daily hack that requires use of my max NCD.
Tesco give circa 33% intro discount, and with full NCD it would have cost me just £349 !!!!! My wife is about to sell her car (with max NCD), and Tesco will allow her to transfer her bonuses to me, so I can then get a rebate of the remaining year bringing my cover back to a ppro rata £349 !!! I have yet to get the beast registered, but Tesco had no prob issuing the certificate on a chassis number. I have one month to get the reg to them, AND get a cat 1 or 2 immob fitted |

Is that TPFT or Comp?
Was a Cat 1 or 2 a requirement for it to be insured?? |

Not bad. When my wife sells her car, she will transfer her FULL NCD to me - I checked and Tesco are OK with this. Then the policy will cost £349 fully comp. |

Cat 2 Immobiliser
Argos - with free fit voucher £130
Motor World - with free fit voucher £130
They are activated with a key fob. Nothing fancy, but I prefer to save cash for the chrome stuff!!!!! |

Ozz,
As you know, I'm waiting for my Paj to arrive.
Prices for Cat 1 combined alarm/immobiliser systems seem to start from around £300 upwards, and Cat 2 immobiliser only systems around £120 upwards.
I've only got to get a Cat 2 fitted (which is all I want), but I do want the remote central locking function on it, as Pajeros of the age of the one I am getting came with key activated central locking as standard only - remote was a FF option.
I've only managed to find one Cat 2 system that has remote CL function included - see my previous post on this here -
http://www.pocuk.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4988&highlight=
As you will see, it costs a bit more than the norm, but it's still around half the price of a Cat 1 system.
Hope it helps.
Regards,
sjhmail |

Thanks again sjhmail. I see from the other thread PAJ1001 is in Poole and paid £120 fitted for a cat 2. I will have to find out where he had it done. I don't think I will want remote (but you never know!). |

I had a touch type CAT2 immob fitted before I picked up my new Paj and it was £115.
I'll post up the name and number of the company when I take a butchers at the receipt. |

Jonnyboy hiya! I too have spoken to Tesco's. Just to clarify the situation, you do have thirty days in which to present the certificate for your alarm, and NOT thirty days in which to have one fitted. Please be aware that if your beloved Paj' goes walkabout - and it's not alarmed - you will NOT be covered. By the way, thats a great deal you've got yourself. When the girl quoted me, she thought I meant a five door - when i told her it was a three door, she just said "oh well, when you fill in the forms, just put three door", "it matters not!!" Take note L&V |

I've just bought a 92 Exceed- not registered yet- Gold over Bronze over gold! Tescos quoted me £475 (with £400 Excess). Direct Line £518 (Same Excess) Liverpool Victoria £505 (£350 Excess) But I have gone for Masterquote (Part of ESure) £498 (£200 Excess) Quoted on: Full No Claims (5 Years) Protected NCB, Cat 2 Alarm, Me & Mrs to Drive. All Usual Cover + 12 Months RAC 5 Star Cover (I do 30k Miles Per Annum apparently this makes me a high risk Driver) But I'm Happy. |
