Have just acquired a 2010 3.2 Shogun Elegance, fitted with the Rockford MMCS. The radio works but the fold out facia is more often than not very reluctant to fully open, and if it actually does open, it doesn't want to close. Therefore am unable to play CDs.
Anyone got any fixes for this. Someone suggested WD40 but I think that's a bit extreme!

Chris

Humour: just fire up your four engines and the vibration will shake it loose!  Laughing

Well the WD40 answer seems most obvious - although possibly better to use a silicon spray or electronic contact lubricant.

You need to determine what the cause of the problem is - is there something physically blocking the hinges or the apertures where the locking lugs are located, or are the lugs or retainers broken or deformed? You may need a decent magnifier and light (phone camera with flash locked on maybe?) to investigate it.

Maybe a previous owner allowed crumbs or other debris to get in, so worth trying both a strong suction from a decent vacuum cleaner, and a blow-out with an air compressor.
