I like the Millers 5/30 fully synthetic with nano technologies, you can buy it in 20 litre drums cheaply as well and its a long life oil.

I also use Millers oils, they are reasonably priced, exceed the specs required by most manufacturers and it's a British company...that manufactures/blends here in UK.

Just make sure that you use a 'low ash' fully synthetic oil to protect your DPF.  Millers are always happy to confirm their recommendations for each vehicle.

Without wishing to start a new thread, I have just bought a 2007 Equip. I have done some reading on here and there seems to be a lot of debate over what type and grade of engine oil these vehicles require.
What are people out there using ? 5/30, 5/40, 10/30, 0/30 Semi or fully synthetic. Also what are you using for the Automatic boxs.

ATF to SP III+ specifications.

Most of us ude Millers Millermatic SP III WS as it meets SP III, SP III+ and SP IIII.

Sale currently on ay Opie Oils, you need 10 litres (2 X 5 litre containers) to properly change it.

Did Mitsubishi change the spec of oil from new.
Just curious as behind the wheel cover inside my 2007 model is a ltr of oil in a nice zip up Mitsubishi bag complete with dipstick wipe and funnel. The oil is TEXACO 10/40 ???
I have been using 5/30 fully synthetic as recommended earlier on this thread and will stick with this as you guys know whats best.

It may have been put in the original kit bag by another owner when they topped their engine up and in the UK the recommended for yours is 5/30 and fully synthetic. If this has been there for a long time I would throw it as it will have deteriorated anyway.

They didn't change the spec for 2007 models specifically but they recommended full synthetic as they are direct injection engines with a DPF and to ignite the DPF they inject diesel on the exhaust stroke and some of this ends up in the sump and the engine oil has to cope with this and dilute it and burn it off which it does; Apart from being an excellent timber treatment the semi synthetic oil won't efffectively deal with the fuel contamination and will deteriorate rapidly and ruin your engine from bore washing and lack of lubricity.

I had one of those bags in mine and it had castrol mineral 20/50 in it so a previous owner must have used the original and put that in instead.
